Position: Teller/New Accounts Representative

About The Role

Altabank, Division of Glacier Bank, is looking for a Part‑time Teller/New Accounts Representative for our Draper branch. To assist customers and potential customers providing friendly, accurate and timely assistance. Recommends and explains banking services and products to clients based on their needs, presenting solution‑based banking services and products, and assists with client inquiries and complaint resolution. Assists customers with their financial transactions, involving paying and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments.

Responsibilities
  • Receive and process customer financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, credit card payments, cashier’s checks, fund transfers and sell gift cards. Maintain and balance cash or teller drawer daily, while adhering to assigned transaction limits.
  • Become proficient in the bank’s products and services to provide solution‑based banking services for customer needs.
  • Resolve customer concerns within authority and escalate to manager when needed. Answer phones, process wire transfers, stop payments, check orders, and create debit cards.
  • Provide excellent customer service and deepen relationships by following established customer service standards.
  • Open and close branch as schedule deems necessary.
  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Complete required bank training courses within assigned time frame(s) and seek clarification from supervisor if needed.
  • Work on the Summit Progression Program to learn and develop assigned skills and increase proficiency.
  • Adhere to Altabank Core Values and keep management informed of area activities and significant problems.
  • Participate in community service and bank‑sponsored activities that support the mission and values of Altabank.
  • Demonstrate self‑governance, courtesy and respect toward external and internal customers.
  • Maintain a professional image, confidentiality, positive attitude, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility and adaptability. Keep work area tidy and maintain customer privacy. Attend and participate in meetings as required.
  • Maintain regular, predictable and timely attendance to accomplish in‑person contact with customers.
  • Perform duties that may change over time.

The entry rate for this position is $17.00+/hour. All compensation offers are analyzed individually and take into consideration multiple factors including geographic location, years of experience, and educational background.

SCHEDULE:

M-TH 8:50-6:10 & F 8:50-5:10

About You Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • Six months of similar or related experience.
Knowledge, Skill, Ability
  • Good with detail to work with numbers and names.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Calm and professional interaction with diverse customers and colleagues.
  • Regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
  • Ability to adapt to change through time management, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Work Environment

No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.

Physical Demands

Typical duties include sitting, using hands in repetitive motions, talking or hearing, occasionally standing, walking, and lifting or reaching. Operate routine office equipment and spend 6‑8 hours per day on the computer. Travel off‑site and climb/descend stairs as required. Close visual acuity required for data analysis, transcription, computer use, reading, and inspection of small parts.
