Position: Patient Services Rep/Phlebotomist (Beechtree DX)

Patient Services Rep/Phlebotomist (Beechtree)

Location:

West Valley City, UT

Salary: $17.00-$19.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, blood samples, and processing of pathology and cytology samples.
  • Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems or service directories.
  • Complete all data entry requirements accurately, including patient registration and test order entry from requisition.
  • Enter billing information and collect payments when required, safeguarding assets and credit card information.
  • Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
  • Use iLabs to manage assigned accounts daily, ensuring accurate data for billing purposes.
  • Provide necessary CIR and PPE resolution reporting to the Director as scheduled.
  • Perform departmental clerical duties when assigned, such as data entry, inventory management, stocking supplies, and answering phones.
  • Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures (e.g., Procedure Manual, Safety Manual, Compliance Manual, Employee Handbook, Quality Assurance Manual) and ensure staff adherence.
  • Verify patient demographic information and initials, including patient signature post‑venipuncture, to confirm correct labeling.
  • Assist with compilation and submission of monthly statistics and data.
  • Maintain all phlebotomy logs (e.g., maintenance logs, temperature logs) timely and with the required frequency.
  • Complete training courses and keep up to date with the latest phlebotomy techniques.
  • Travel to Territory Manager meetings if held off‑site or outside normal shift hours.
  • Participate in special projects and teams.
  • Stay up to date on company communications.
Qualifications
  • Ability to provide quality, error‑free work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal onsite supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
  • Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on‑call, and overtime.

  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver license, and a clean driving record, if applicable.
  • Demonstrate superior customer focus, open communication, transparency, and the ability to embrace change and apply business knowledge.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift light to moderately heavy objects (1–15 lb frequently; 16–25 lb occasionally; 26–40 lb seldom; >41 lb only with assistance).
  • Sit or stand for long periods; require long hours of eye and hand coordination.
  • Perform repetitive tasks with dominant hand frequently throughout the day.
  • Travel required.
  • Extensive use of phone and PC.
  • Fine dexterity with hands and steadiness.
  • Back, knee, and reach/twist movements as needed.
Required Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic preferred).
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience
  • One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
