PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Royal Street Cafe assistant sous chef is responsible for assisting the sous chef with all food preparation.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Operate the kitchen with great attention to food quality, taste, and presentation
- Develop new menu items in conjunction with the sous chef
- Carry out administrative functions, including forecasting, payroll, scheduling, recruiting, training, supervising, and discipline
- Direct, motivate, and train kitchen personnel
- Ensure proper maintenance of operations, equipment, and facility
- Maintain safe and sanitary working conditions in accordance with health codes
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the culinary industry
- Possess a current Utah state food handler's permit or Safe Serve Certificate
- Able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 lbs.
- Able to withstand frequent up/down, twisting, and repetitive movements
- November 2025 - April 2026
- Pay: $26.00 per hour
