. Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service, establish and maintain a safe and clean environment, and direct and supervise all functions of the department. - Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines; maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers.
- Report safety risks, illegal activity, and accidents to management.
- Train associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO).
- Plan, organize and supervise the inventory process.
- Schedule daily, weekly and monthly price changes and promotional signage.
- Maintain awareness of inventory conditions and report discrepancies.
- Assist management in preparing the department budget, profit and loss reviews, and financial reporting.
- Monitor and control departmental expenses.
- Implement period promotional plans and prepare seasonal critiques for sales and merchandising supervision.
- Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management.
- Understand and promote product knowledge.
- Adhere to all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines.
- Develop training and performance appraisal processes for associates.
- Develop scheduling to manage customer volume throughout operating hours.
- Promote teamwork and communicate job‑specific information to associates.
- Supervise and coach direct reports, complete performance reviews, and provide feedback.
- Work cooperatively in a high‑paced and occasionally stressful environment, manage conflict, act with honesty and integrity, and follow directions.
- Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Any management experience.
- Desired: 1 year of grocery retail experience.
