We're looking for a Family Help - School and Community Practitioner to join our dedicated team in East Riding of Yorkshire Council. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with schools, colleges, and community partners to support children and families at key transition points and help prevent needs from escalating.
About the RoleAs a School and Community Practitioner, you'll be the key link between early help and education settings, providing advice, guidance, and support to families and professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide early intervention and parenting support in schools, homes, and community settings.
- Support schools to deliver the Family Help offer and promote positive engagement.
- Attend multi-agency meetings and contribute to assessments and family plans.
- Champion the voice of the child and promote trauma-informed practice.
This is a frontline role where your ability to build relationships, navigate complex needs, and empower families will be key to achieving positive outcomes.
What We're Looking ForWe're seeking someone who:
- Holds an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
- Has experience working with children, young people, and families to deliver preventative interventions.
- Understands the social and economic factors affecting family outcomes.
- Can lead and coordinate multi-agency support and assessments.
- Has strong communication, conflict resolution, and partnership working skills.
- Is flexible and confident working across schools and communities.
- Holds a full driving licence and has access to a vehicle.
