A leading independent firm of Chartered Accountants in Droitwich is looking to recruit an experienced Accounts & Audit Senior to join its expanding team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant with UK accountancy practice experience to join a progressive firm offering genuine career development, a varied client portfolio, and a supportive working environment.
The role is predominantly audit-focused, with approximately 80% of your time spent on audit assignments and the remaining 20% dedicated to statutory accounts preparation and tax compliance work. You will work with a broad range of owner-managed businesses, SMEs, charities and corporate clients across a variety of sectors.
The Role As an Accounts & Audit Senior, you will take responsibility for planning, leading and completing audit assignments, while also preparing statutory accounts and supporting managers and partners with the delivery of high-quality client service.
Key Responsibilities- Planning, leading and completing audits for a varied portfolio of clients
- Leading audit fieldwork both on-site and remotely
- Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
- Preparing corporation tax computations and assisting with tax compliance work
- Reviewing work completed by junior members of the audit team
- Supervising, mentoring and supporting trainees throughout audit assignments
- Building strong client relationships and acting as a key point of contact during audits
- Working closely with Managers and Partners to deliver assignments efficiently and to a high technical standard
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- At least 2–3 years' experience planning and leading audits within a UK accountancy practice
- Strong technical knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards
- Experience preparing statutory accounts and corporation tax computations
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet client deadlines
