We are recruiting for a Project Engineer on a permanent basis for our client based in Droitwich. The client is a well‑established and respected manufacturer, specialising within plastic products. They encourage curiosity, craftsmanship and collaboration across a number of industries.
This role presents a fantastic opportunity for someone who has worked their way up through a hands‑on engineering background, such as CNC machining or plastic moulding, and is now ready to take the next step in their engineering career. You’ll use your practical manufacturing experience and developing engineering knowledge to manage new product introductions (NPI) and improve existing production processes.
Working closely with toolmakers, customers, and internal teams, you’ll ensure every new project runs smoothly, from design concept through to customer sign‑off and full production.
Key Duties- Manage the full New Product Introduction (NPI) process – from design to production handover.
- Review CAD data and technical drawings to ensure parts can be manufactured efficiently.
- Liaise with toolmakers and suppliers, overseeing tooling builds and trials.
- Develop and fine‑tune manufacturing processes to improve quality, speed, and consistency.
- Analyse tool trials and dimensional reports, making data‑driven process improvements.
- Create clear process documentation, setup sheets, and work instructions.
- Support production teams, providing technical input to solve tooling or process issues.
- Work closely with customers to ensure products meet specifications and quality expectations.
- HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or similar.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (CNC, tooling, moulding, or forming).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD data.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic CAD software.
- Self‑motivated with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Experience managing or supporting tooling and process development projects.
- Working knowledge of Solid Works and GD&T principles.
- Eager to learn and develop in the role.
