Charity Kitchen Assistant

THE EMPLOYER IS: VIA WINGSTo support the daily operation of the charity kitchen by assisting with food preparation, maintaining hygiene standards, and helping provide meals to service users in a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment. This role provides people with hands-on experience in food preparation and kitchen operations. The participant will help Via Wings prepare meals for individuals and families in need, gaining practical skills in food hygiene, teamwork, and kitchen management, while directly supporting the charity’s mission.

• Assist with basic food preparation (washing, chopping, portioning ingredients).
• Help prepare and serve hot and cold meals.
• Ensure food is presented appropriately and served safely.
• Follow instructions from the chef or kitchen supervisor.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene.
• Clean kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas.
• Follow food safety procedures and allergen guidelines.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.

• Basic understanding of food hygiene practices.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Respectful attitude.
