City of Hope Medical Group seeks an Infectious Diseases Physician and Hospital Epidemiologist to provide services for our Duarte Campus. Join our rapidly expanding, nationally recognized cancer institute as we seek to hire a full‑time clinical faculty member at the Assistant‑Associate Professor level. Open at City of Hope National Medical Center’s Duarte, California campus, this full‑time clinical faculty and Hospital Epidemiology position (Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor) offers a unique opportunity to work in a 450‑plus member integrated, multidisciplinary medical group practice serving an NCI‑designated comprehensive cancer center in Southern California.
City of Hope – Duarte CampusThe Department of Medicine is seeking a dedicated Infection Control officer to serve our growing community. Our cancer center is transforming care for generations, providing access to experts in breast, prostate, lung, blood, gastrointestinal, and gynecologic cancers, and more.
Highlights- Join a dynamic group of six infectious diseases specialists and one APP
- Work out of one location – the hospital is located on the campus
- Approximately 50% of time dedicated to Hospital Epidemiology as the lead Hospital Epidemiologist
- Clinical time divided between inpatient and outpatient services
- Dedicated day for academic, administrative, or teaching activities
- 5% academic/research time granted for new faculty
- Outpatient clinics 1‑2 days a week
- Inpatient consultation call approximately 1:6 weeks
- Clinical research opportunities abound and are encouraged
- Clinical time divided between inpatient and outpatient services
- Contribute to Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Control efforts at Duarte
- Provide opportunities for clinical research

- City of Hope adds 20% of salary to your retirement account (NOT a match – you do not contribute a penny) each year; up to a maximum of $61,000
- Base salary range: $210,000 – $256,000
- Base salary is exclusive for full‑time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Actual compensation will be adjusted for experience, training, hospital/community need and other factors.

- Active or eligible for California medical license
- ABIM board certification in Infectious Diseases
- Strong communication skills
- Experienced in leading policy and protocol development and implementation for hospital epidemiology and infection prevention and control with a special focus on cancer patients
- Experience in transplant infectious disease – program heavily focused on immunocompromised host infections (hematologic malignancy/HCT)
- 1‑2 years working within hematologic malignancies (preferred but not required)
