Floater Mobile Phlebotomist

Job Overview

Pay range, based on experience: $18 - $23

Full Time

• Employee will drive their personal vehicle (unless other accommodations are made) to client facilities (mostly nursing homes) as directed by company dispatcher or assigned Area Phlebotomy Supervisor/ Area Lead.
• Follows established phlebotomy procedures for obtaining blood samples from patients.
• Properly and accurately identify patients according to Trident Care phlebotomy patient identification policy prior to drawing.
• Ensures that specimens are properly labeled, in the proper tube and accompanied by a completed requisition, including patient billing information prior to transport.
• Follows Trident Care phlebotomy policy on transporting PHI.
• Plans, organizes draw schedule with attention to priority of patients.
• Completes written logs, timesheets and other required records in a neat and accurate manner.
• Works cooperatively with dispatch, payroll, laboratory and courier departments.
• Maintains all equipment in good working order and reports problems immediately to Area Phlebotomy Supervisor.
• When on duty, answers company‑issued mobile device promptly and is ready and available to work.
• Notifies dispatch of availability for future assignment.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Area Phlebotomy Supervisor.

• Must have current clinical licensure, if required by state.
• Must possess knowledge of medical terminology as it relates to laboratory purposes.
• Proficient in phlebotomy procedures and techniques, including venipuncture, tourniquet application/removal, and decontamination of the puncture site.
• Knowledge of required specimen preservation, adequate patient preparation, and specimen procedures.
• Must have a current and valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Must possess access to a vehicle in good working condition suitable to meet daily driving requirements.
• Must maintain a good driving record.
• Must be able to work under minimal supervision and accurately maintain timesheet records.
• Must understand and be knowledgeable of resident rights, patient care, and patient right to refuse.
• Ability to obtain blood specimens from patients under a variety of patient conditions.
• Proficient in written and verbal skills in the English language.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with clients, patients, the public, and all staff members.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to take directions and conduct oneself in a professional manner.
