Accountant; ACCA or CPA

Overview

We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Accountant with proven experience in the construction industry and hands-on expertise using ERP systems such as Oracle
. The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, support project cost controls, and maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. The candidate must hold a professional accounting qualification (ACCA or CPA).

• Maintain and manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Record and monitor project-related costs, budgets, and variations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure accurate posting of transactions in Oracle ERP or similar system.
• Perform cost analysis and support project profitability reporting.
• Review subcontractor invoices, supplier payments, and employee expense claims.
• Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and local regulations.
• Support internal and external audits and provide required documentation.
• Coordinate with project teams, procurement, and finance management.

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or part-qualified with demonstrable construction accounting experience.
• Typically 3–6 years’ experience in project or construction accounting, commercial finance or similar roles within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of contract types, revenue recognition on construction contracts, retention accounting and cost to complete methodologies.
• Proficient with ERP/accounting systems (experience with Oracle, SAP, Sage or similar preferred) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills for analysis and reporting.

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline is desirable.
• Professional accountancy qualification (or working towards one) is preferred.
• Proven track record of supporting commercial and financial delivery on construction projects with examples of delivering improved cost control or reporting efficiencies.
• Experience interacting with project teams, subcontractors and clients on financial matters and evidencing effective stakeholder management.
