Diagnostic Technician

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diagnostic EV Technician to join our dynamic team in Dubai Investment Park (DIP), supporting the BYD brand. The role involves inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing electric vehicles (EVs) using advanced diagnostic tools. You will be expected to follow the “Fix It Right” process, ensuring a high-quality customer experience that fosters long-term loyalty and aligns with BYD’s service standards.

• Perform in-depth diagnostics on electric vehicles, identifying complex faults across high and low voltage systems.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and ensure repair work meets the highest quality standards with minimal return jobs.
• Mentor and support workshop team members, offering guidance on diagnostics, repair procedures, and best practices.
• Document all repair and diagnostic work clearly and accurately for communication with Service Advisors, Technical Support, and customers.
• Promote efficiency by suggesting improvements to work processes, tools, and workshop conditions.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed, especially when junior technicians are working on EVs.
• Assist the spare parts team by providing technical input to ensure accurate part identification and supply.
• Collaborate with HSSE teams to maintain a safe work environment and recommend safety enhancements where needed.

• Extensive hands‑on experience with EV systems and components (high and low voltage).
• Certified Master Technician or equivalent industry certification.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills within a workshop setting.
• Knowledge of the latest advancements in EV technology and diagnostics.

You will be part of a high-performing team in a fast-paced EV workshop, reporting directly to the Aftersales Manager.

• 5–7 years of experience as a Diagnostic Technician, ideally within the retail automotive sector.
• Valid UAE driving license.
