Quantity Surveyor
Dubai, UAE
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Accurately measure and price using contract drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities to ensure precise cost assessments.
- Manage all post-contract QS functions, including interim and final payments, variations, commercial and contractual correspondence, cash flows, and claims.
- Provide expert advice on contractual matters and ensure the completeness and validity of contractual requirements.
- Offer guidance on the Contractor’s resource allocation and overall project performance.
- Audit Contractor payments to ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
- Ensure timely submission and completeness of valuations, maintaining accuracy in financial assessments.
- Measure and record work completed, ensuring consistency with contract requirements.
- Prepare and assess variations and day-works, ensuring alignment with contract terms.
- Monitor and update the final cost estimate of the contract, keeping track of any changes or adjustments.
- Maintain detailed records of project expenditure to support cost control.
- Review, negotiate, and prepare claim settlements, ensuring fair and accurate resolutions.
- Coordinate and oversee the activities of the QS team, ensuring effective collaboration and efficiency.
- Prepare and submit financial statements for the monthly reporting cycle, providing a clear overview of project finances.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required to support the successful execution of the project.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying
- Minimum 8 years experience in large infrastructure projects preferably Dubai or UAE experience.
- Experience in Roads and infra projects is a must.
- Consultancy experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of pre and post contract administration.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate logically and clearly with management and staff.
What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:
- UAE Authority approval as Quantity Surveyor is preferred.
- Must have a clear understanding of, and ability to work with, construction contract commercial documents, drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with Auto Cad is preferred.
- Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to work independently.
