Quantity Surveyor

This is a full-time, on-site Quantity Surveyor role located in Dubai. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost estimation, budgeting, cost control, and project financial reporting. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), analyzing construction project costs, tracking expenditures, preparing detailed cost plans, and submitting accurate cost reports. The role also requires close collaboration with project teams to ensure efficient construction planning and delivery within budget constraints.
Tasksand Duties
- Prepare preliminary cost estimates based on concept design.
- Ensure design remains within approved budget.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and method of measurement to be in line with POMI (or CESMM standards.
- Compile pricing documents and schedules.
- Coordinate with architects and engineers for complete tender package.
- Support selection of suitable contractors.
- Manage tender issuance process, Prepare tender correspondences, Respond to tender queries and Participate in post-tender negotiations.
- Analyse tender returns, Prepare Tender Evaluation Report and Conduct commercial comparison and recommendation to client.
- Participate in Value Engineering workshops, Propose alternative materials and systems to Ensure cost savings without compromising quality and Assess financial implications of design alternatives.
- Review drawings for completeness and buildability and Work closely with design team to ensure all design information is coordinated before BOQ finalization.
- Should have Strong measurement skills.
- Knowledge of construction methods and materials.
- Take off using planswift, CAD, …etc and other software
- Cost planning expertise.
- Understanding of standard forms of contract
- Negotiation and analytical skills.
- Min 5+ years Experience as Pre-contract QS within Dubai Base Engineering Consultancy Firm.
