Lead cost estimation efforts for complex construction projects ensuring accuracy and alignment with project specifications. Manage procurement processes negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best value and terms. Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders clearly communicating cost implications and project progress. Conduct risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies to manage potential financial impacts throughout the project lifecycle. Oversee contract administration ensuring compliance with legal, financial, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate closely with project managers and engineers to track project budgets and timelines facilitating timely decision-making. Implement value engineering practices identifying cost‑saving opportunities without compromising quality or performance. Mentor and train junior quantity surveyors and interns fostering professional growth and enhancing team capabilities. Utilize advanced software tools for cost management ensuring efficient data handling and reporting. Monitor project cash flow preparing forecasts and reports to support financial planning and management.
& Experience
Postgraduate qualifications such as an MSc in Quantity Surveying or similar will be highly regarded. Professional certification (MRICS or equivalent) is a must for credibility in the industry. A minimum of 7 years' experience in quantity surveying within the construction sector is required. Experience in managing large-scale projects, particularly in commercial or residential developments, is preferred. Candidates with international experience, especially in the Middle East or Asia, will be prioritized.
Fluency in English is required; additional languages such as Arabic or Mandarin are advantageous. Strong technical skills in cost estimation software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam) are essential for efficiency. Excellent negotiation and communication skills are critical for effective stakeholder engagement. A proactive attitude, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work under pressure are vital personal qualities.
