Social Media Content Creator & Editing Executive Role Purpose

We are seeking a creative, energetic, and digitally savvy Social Media Content Creator & Editing Executive to strengthen Middlesex University Dubai’s social media presence and engage a diverse, international audience. This role will focus on producing high-performing, social-first content that showcases student life, academic excellence, events, and campus culture. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting student recruitment, brand awareness, and community engagement across multiple platforms.

• Shoot, edit, and publish high-quality, social-first video content optimised for Tik Tok, Instagram Reels, Stories, and other platforms
• Use tools such as Cap Cut, Canva, Captions, native platform editors, and AI-powered tools to enhance production speed and creative quality
• Adapt social media trends creatively and appropriately for an academic, student-focused, and culturally diverse audience
• Analyse performance insights to test, refine, and improve content over time
• Support a frequent and rolling live social content calendar, including student takeovers, activations, and real-time coverage of campus events
• Ensure content is optimised for reach, engagement, and shareability within the UAE and international markets
• Support website content and longer‑form video to assist recruitment, campaigns, and brand storytelling

• Actively monitor and respond to comments and direct messages across all social platforms
• Deliver friendly, professional, and on‑brand responses to prospective students, parents, and current students
• Identify opportunities to build meaningful conversations and strengthen the MDX Dubai online community
• Contribute to the development of community management guidelines and online tone of voice

• Attend and cover a wide range of university events throughout the academic year, including open days, graduations, student activities, and sports events
• Capture fast-turnaround content in live environments with confidence and creativity
• Produce photography, short interviews, testimonials, and behind-the-scenes content for social use

• Support filming and setup for university video series and a sports-focused podcast
• Assist in shaping engaging conversations and strong visual output
• Contribute creative ideas to improve shareability, discoverability, and audience growth

• Monitor content performance and contribute ideas to exceed engagement, reach, and follower growth targets
• Bring fresh, trend-forward ideas to ensure Middlesex University Dubai remains competitive within the regional higher education social media space
• Collaborate closely with the wider marketing, communications, and student recruitment teams
• Suggest, test, and utilise new platforms, tools, and equipment to elevate content quality and efficiency

• Proven experience creating video content for Tik Tok, Instagram, and other social platforms
• Strong shooting and editing skills, particularly short-form vertical video
• Confident using Cap Cut, Canva, and AI-assisted editing tools
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Comfortable working across a wide range of topics, cultures, and academic disciplines
• Confident, personable, and professional when covering live events
• Highly creative, trend-aware, and performance-driven
• A proactive, collaborative team player

• Experience working in higher education, student recruitment, or youth-focused brands
• Understanding of the UAE and GCC social media landscape
• Basic photography, audio recording, and interviewing skills
• Familiarity with social media analytics and reporting
