We at Genius we are hiring for a Architectural Draftsman--Fitout with a leading Main Contracting Company:

Job Overview:
The Shop Drawing Team Leader is responsible for leading and supervising the team of draftsmen in preparing, reviewing, and coordinating shop drawings required for project execution. This role ensures accuracy, compliance with project specifications, and timely submission of all technical drawings. The Shop Drawing Team Leader acts as a key liaison between the engineering team, project team, consultants, and site operations.

• Team Leadership & Management – Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of draftsmen in preparing shop drawings. Allocate tasks, manage workload distribution, and monitor progress to ensure deadlines are met. Conduct regular technical reviews and provide guidance to improve team performance and drawing quality.
• Shop Drawing Production – Oversee the preparation and revision of detailed shop drawings including plans, sections, elevations, and details. Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, codes, standards, and consultant requirements. Validate dimensions, materials, and technical details before submission.
• Coordination and Communication – Coordinate closely with engineers, architects, project managers, and site teams to collect required information. Review IFC drawings, design updates, and project documents to guide the drafting team. Participate in coordination meetings with consultants and subcontractors to clarify technical requirements.
• Quality Assurance – Implement drawing standards, layers, templates, and guidelines to maintain uniformity across all drawings. Conduct thorough quality checks to ensure accuracy, clarity, and constructability. Ensure compliance with company QA/QC procedures and project documentation requirements.
• Submission and Approvals – Prepare and oversee the submission of shop drawings for consultant approval. Track submissions, approvals, comments, and revisions. Ensure all revised drawings are updated in the document control system and shared with relevant stakeholders.
• Technical Support – Provide technical support to site teams during installation and construction stages. Assist in resolving drawing-related issues and discrepancies encountered on-site. Support preparation of as-built drawings.

• Education – Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Architecture, Civil engineering, or related field.
• Experience – A minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in drafting, with at least 2-3 years in a team leader / senior draftsman role. Strong background in contracting or construction industry (fit-out/ civil / MEP depending on specialization). Excellent command of AutoCAD;
  Revit and other BIM tools are an advantage.
• Portfolio – A portfolio showcasing previous work in fitout detailing, highlighting the ability to produce accurate and comprehensive fit out drawings.
• Skills – Proficiency in industry-standards CAD software, with a focus on interior fitout applications. Deep understanding of interior fitout principles, materials, and construction techniques.
