Construction Interior Designer
The successful candidate will have strong on‑site experience, a solid understanding of construction processes, and the ability to coordinate effectively with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure the design vision is executed to the highest standard. This role suits someone proactive, solutions‑focused, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, quality‑driven environment.
Key Responsibilities- Represent the design team throughout the construction phase
- Ensure approved design intent is accurately implemented on site
- Attend site and technical coordination meetings
- Review construction progress against issued IFC documentation
- Respond to contractor RFIs in collaboration with senior team members
- Carry out regular site inspections and issue reports
- Review contractor shop drawings and technical submissions
- Assess material samples, mock‑ups, and finish approvals
- Ensure compliance with design specifications and approved documentation
- Coordinate with architectural, structural and MEP consultants to resolve clashes affecting interior works
- Produce site‑specific details and clarification sketches when required
- Resolve technical and construction‑related design issues
- Deliver practical efficient solutions while maintaining design integrity
- Support value engineering exercises where necessary
- Issue revised details, sketches and clarification drawings
- Track design changes and maintain updated drawing registers
- Assist with preparation of as‑built documentation
- Ensure all revisions and approvals are formally documented
- Coordinate supplier submissions and material approvals
- Verify installed finishes match approved samples and specifications
- Oversee bespoke joinery and custom interior elements
- Support FF&E installation activities where required
- Monitor workmanship and execution quality on site
- Identify deviations from approved design intent
- Proactively flag quality or programme risks
- Maintain exceptional finishing standards across all project phases
- 8+ years experience in Interior Design
- Minimum 3 years post‑contract/site‑based experience
- Background in luxury hospitality, high‑end residential, or cultural projects
- Strong technical detailing and construction knowledge
- Excellent understanding of joinery, finishes, and interior materials
- Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings
- Experience coordinating with contractors within the Middle East region
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
