Senior Urban Designer UAE

Job Summary

SSH is seeking a Senior Urban Designer to support the delivery of large-scale master planning and urban development projects across the Middle East. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative, sustainable, and high-quality urban design solutions.

• Lead urban design and master planning projects from concept through delivery.
• Prepare master plans, urban design frameworks, conceptual designs, and illustrative layouts.
• Conduct site analysis, research, and feasibility studies to inform design strategies.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, planning policies, and international best practices.
• Develop technical reports, presentations, and client deliverables.
• Coordinate with clients, government authorities, and project stakeholders.
• Collaborate with architecture, landscape, transportation, and engineering teams.
• Support project delivery, stakeholder engagement, and design quality control.

• Bachelor's Degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum 5-7 years' experience in urban planning, urban design, or master planning.
• Proven experience delivering master plans, conceptual designs, and large-scale development projects.
• Strong understanding of urban design principles, planning regulations, and development processes.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to lead project tasks and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

• Master's Degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, or Architecture.
• Professional accreditation such as AICP, RTPI, or equivalent.
• Experience working on GCC/UAE projects and authority approvals.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, GIS, Sketch Up, Rhino, or similar design tools.
