Obsterics and Gynecologist Specialist

The Obstetrician & Gynecologist is responsible for providing comprehensive medical and surgical care related to pregnancy, childbirth, and the female reproductive system. The role includes antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, gynecological diagnosis and treatment, preventive women’s health services, and emergency care when required.

• Provide antenatal care, including routine checkups, ultrasounds, and risk assessment
• Manage normal and high-risk pregnancies
• Conduct vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections
• Provide intrapartum and postnatal care to mothers
• Diagnose and manage pregnancy‑related complications
• Offer family planning and contraception counseling

• Diagnose and treat disorders of reproductive system
• Perform gynecological surgeries (e.g., hysterectomy, laparoscopy, D&C)
• Manage menstrual disorders, infertility, menopause, and pelvic pain
• Conduct routine gynecological examinations and screenings (Pap smears, breast exams)

• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
• Collaborate with midwives, nurses, anesthetists, and other specialists
• Follow hospital policies, clinical guidelines, and ethical standards
• Participate in on‑call rotations and emergency services
• Engage in continuous medical education and quality improvement activities

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent)
• Specialization in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Board certification (e.g., MRCOG, Board, or equivalent)
• Relevant clinical experience (years depend on Specialist or Consultant level)
• Strong clinical and surgical skills
• Excellent decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage emergencies
