We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialist/Consultant in Emergency Medicine to provide immediate assessment, diagnosis, stabilization, and treatment of patients presenting with acute illnesses, traumatic injuries, and medical emergencies. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, evidence-based emergency care while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assess, diagnose, stabilize, and treat patients with acute medical, surgical, traumatic, and psychiatric emergencies.
Perform rapid triage and prioritize patient care based on clinical urgency.
Manage critically ill and injured patients using evidence-based emergency medicine protocols.
Perform emergency procedures including airway management, endotracheal intubation, central venous catheterization, chest tube insertion, wound management, fracture stabilization, and procedural sedation where credentialed.
Interpret laboratory investigations, ECGs, X-rays, CT scans, ultrasound, and other diagnostic tests.
Coordinate timely referrals and admissions with inpatient specialties and intensive care teams.
Lead and participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), trauma activations, stroke alerts, and other emergency response teams.
Provide emergency care for adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
Supervise junior physicians, residents, interns, and nursing staff when applicable.
Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives, morbidity and mortality meetings, and clinical audits.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, UAE healthcare regulations, infection prevention standards, and patient safety protocols.

Qualifications

Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent).
MD, Board Certification, Arab Board, MRCP/MRCEM, FRCP, CCT, or equivalent qualification in Emergency Medicine.
Valid medical license or eligibility for licensing with the relevant UAE health authority (DOH, DHA, or MOH).
Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialization experience in an emergency department (preferred).
Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications (or equivalent) are highly desirable.
