No member of staff will be able to start until these checks are complete and this process takes, on average, a month.
Harrow International School Dubai is seeking exceptional educators to join the founding team and become part of the legacy.
As part of our founding team, you will play a pivotal role in building a vibrant and inclusive community where the learning of every individual is at the heart of daily life. Key Responsibilities Pupil Support and Counselling- Provide individual and group counselling sessions to pupils, addressing a broad range of social, emotional and behavioural concerns.
- Employ evidence-based therapeutic approaches to support students’ mental health, personal development, and resilience.
- Assess individual needs and, where appropriate, make referrals to external agencies or professionals.
- Respond promptly to student crises, including incidents of bullying, self-harm, or trauma, providing immediate support, assessing the situation, and coordinating appropriate interventions or referrals, including to the DSL if required.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other staff to implement programmes and strategies that promote wellbeing, social-emotional learning, and positive behaviour.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with safeguarding and professional standards.
- Work closely with Pastoral Head, Designated Safeguarding Lead, House Masters/Mistresses, Tutors and other key staff to ensure a coordinated approach to pupil care.
- Provide exemplary pastoral care, nurturing pupils’ personal, social, and emotional development, and ensuring that every child feels known, valued, and supported.
- Lead or support workshops and initiatives that develop resilience, emotional literacy, and positive relationships.
- Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding, child protection, and pupil welfare, maintaining unwavering compliance with Harrow International School Dubai policies, UAE regulations, and international best practice.
- Communicate proactively and sensitively with parents, maintaining accurate, timely records of all relevant interactions, and fostering strong partnerships between home and School.
- Model and instill Harrow’s core values of Courage, Honour, Humility, and Fellowship, ensuring they are lived out daily in counselling, pastoral practice, and wider School life.
- Establish positive relationships with parents and guardians, providing guidance, resources, and support to address concerns and enhance understanding of pupils’ needs.
- Conduct parent workshops, presentations, and discussion forums on topics relevant to student wellbeing.
- Serve as a clear and accessible channel for parent queries, and facilitate access to external resources or professional providers as appropriate.
- Develop links with external professionals and community networks to enhance support for pupils.
- Engage with leading educational research and developments in counselling and pastoral care, integrating innovative approaches and evidence-based practices into student support strategies.
- Enrich the academic experience through cross-curricular well-being initiatives, workshops, and cultural encounters that broaden pupils’ perspectives and foster curiosity beyond academic boundaries.
- Collaborate purposefully with colleagues, sharing best practice and contributing to the collective advancement of student welfare and pastoral care across Harrow International School Dubai.
