Teacher of Economics - September 2026 – GEMS Education (Dubai)
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of Economics to join our team in September 2026 at GEMS FirstPoint School, a Premium British Curriculum school located in the heart of The Villa community, Dubai. This role offers excellent opportunities for ambitious teachers and may lead to middle leadership positions such as curriculum coordination, Head of Year, ECA Coordination or Head of Careers.
Our campus boasts a diverse community of over 90 nationalities and state‑of‑the‑art facilities, including a dedicated sports and performing arts centre, swimming pools, theatre, sports hall, dance, drama, music rooms, science laboratories, computer suites, a food technology kitchen, textiles and design suite, and Design Technology workshops. The curriculum is broad, balanced, and enriched with outstanding co‑curricular opportunities, enabling students to reach their potential through A Levels, GCSEs and BTECs while teachers receive extensive professional development.
FPS also hosts NPQ courses and senior leaders deliver NPQSL and NPQH programmes.
- Deliver engaging and high-quality Economics lessons aligned with the British curriculum.
- Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and adapt teaching to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Plan, prepare, and assess effectively, maintaining accurate records of student progress.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes innovation, curiosity, and a love of learning.
- Use technology effectively to enhance teaching and learning.
- Contribute to co‑curricular and extra‑curricular programmes, supporting whole‑school initiatives and events.
- Uphold GEMS policies, procedures, and core values at all times.
- Communicate regularly with parents, colleagues, and external stakeholders to support student development.
- Engage in continuous professional development and performance management.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, economics or equivalent.
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
- Strong classroom practice with proven ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Commitment to inclusive education and personalised learning.
- Willingness to contribute to wider school life and professional learning culture.
