Job Description:

Our client, a prestigious medical university in Dubai, is seeking an accomplished and visionary Dean of Academic Affairs to oversee the academic operations of the university. The successful candidate will provide leadership and strategic direction for academic programs, faculty development, and curriculum design. This role is crucial in ensuring the highest standards of academic excellence are maintained across all departments and programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and oversight for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of academic programs.
• Collaborate with department heads and faculty to ensure the curriculum aligns with the university's mission and accreditation standards.
• Lead the strategic planning and development of academic policies, procedures, and programs.
• Oversee faculty recruitment, development, and evaluation to maintain a high standard of teaching and research.
• Ensure academic programs meet accreditation requirements and maintain compliance with relevant regulatory bodies.
• Monitor student academic progress and implement initiatives to enhance student success and retention.
• Coordinate and manage faculty affairs, including professional development and performance evaluations.
• Serve as a liaison between the administration, faculty, and students to ensure open communication and effective collaboration.
• Manage academic budgets and resources, ensuring the efficient use of funds for educational programs.
• Represent the university in academic conferences, professional organizations, and accreditation bodies.

Qualifications:

• A PhD or equivalent in a relevant medical or educational field.
• A minimum of 10 years of academic experience
  , including administrative roles in higher education, preferably in a medical or healthcare-related institution.
• Proven experience in curriculum development, faculty management, and academic program oversight.
• Strong knowledge of accreditation processes and academic policies within higher education.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• A track record of fostering a collaborative and inclusive academic environment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead complex initiatives across various departments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a senior academic role (e.g., Dean, Associate Dean, or Vice Dean) at a medical university.
• Knowledge of the healthcare and medical education systems in the UAE or the Middle East.
• Strong research background and a history of publications in reputable academic journals.
