The Post:
Head of Design Technology
From September 2026 we are looking to appoint an outstanding Head of Design Technology to join the College. The successful candidate will lead an exceptional department which is both extremely popular and effective. In 2025 the results in GCSE were outstanding, with 100% of students receiving 9-4 (A*-C) grades. The results were equally impressive with A Level – 92% of students receiving A*-C grades.
The opportunities which Design Technology present for students is central to the philosophy of the school. As a result, this appointment is crucial to the continued development of Jumeirah College.
The successful applicant will be required to:
- Lead the Design Technology department to maintain and enhance high standards of teaching and learning.
- Contribute to the school’s enriched curriculum programme and overall educational strategy.
The following qualifications and attributes are required:
- A
B.Ed. or degree and PGCE / PGDE or equivalent with exceptional subject knowledge. - At least 3 years’ experience of the National Curriculum for England.
- Experience teaching Design Technology up to A-Level. A track record of outstanding learning and teaching is expected.
- A mindset which understands that all students have the potential for top performance, with the drive and passion to enable them to achieve it.
- Experience which will enable a contribution to our enriched curriculum programme.
