1. Overview and Objectives of the Position:
Lecturers at Murdoch University Dubai are responsible for delivering high-quality education to a diverse cohort of students.
Business & Strategy is responsible for the delivery of high-quality teaching across the units:
BUS
123 - Management in a Global Environment
MBS
664 - Strategies for Growth & Excellence.
The role supports the University’s commitment to academic excellence by ensuring that students develop a strong understanding of strategic management, global business environments and organisational performance.
The primary objective of this position is to facilitate student learning, engagement and achievement through effective teaching, assessment and academic support, while maintaining compliance with university academic standards, quality assurance requirements and transnational education frameworks.
The successful appointee will contribute to a student-centred, professionally relevant and internationally aligned learning experience, preparing graduates to analyse complex business challenges, evaluate strategic options and perform effectively in global organisational contexts.
2. Key Result Areas:Teaching & Learning Delivery
- Deliver high-quality, engaging and academically rigorous teaching.
- Facilitate student learning through lectures, case studies, discussions and applied activities in face-to-face and/or blended formats
- Ensure teaching reflects current global business practices, strategic frameworks and industry relevance
- Promote a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Provide timely academic guidance, consultation and feedback to support student progress
- Assess student work in line with university policies, marking criteria and moderation requirements
- Provide clear, constructive and timely feedback
- Maintain accurate academic records and submit grades within required time frames
- Adhere to all University academic policies, quality standards and transnational education requirements
- Ensure compliance with learning outcomes, assessment standards and accreditation expectations
- Use the Learning Management System (e.g. Moodle) and other digital tools to support teaching, assessment and communication.
- Maintain up-to-date unit materials and online learning resources.
- Work collaboratively with academic and administrative teams
- Participate in unit coordination, moderation or review activities as required
- Maintain professional knowledge in business strategy and global management
Applicants must demonstrate the following:
- A Master’s degree or Doctoral qualification in Business, Management, Strategy or a closely related discipline,
- (Or a recognised teaching qualification combined with substantial professional experience in the discipline)
- Demonstrated successful teaching experience in higher education at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, supported by teaching evaluations, peer review or similar evidence
- Proven ability to design and deliver engaging, student-centred learning in face-to-face, online and blended teaching environments
- Strong written and oral English communication skills appropriate for an academic and professional environment
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage workload effectively and meet strict academic deadlines
- Proven capacity to work collaboratively within academic teams to achieve teaching and learning outcomes
