Ranches Primary School is seeking an experienced Islamic Studies Teacher (FS–Year
6)

Role Overview

The Islamic Studies Teacher is responsible for delivering high‑quality Islamic education across Foundation Stage to Year 6, ensuring pupils develop a secure and meaningful understanding of Islamic values, beliefs, and practices in an age‑appropriate, inclusive, and engaging way.

The post holder will contribute positively to pupils’ spiritual, moral, and personal development, demonstrate consistently strong classroom practice, and play an active role in the wider life of the school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach high‑quality Islamic Studies lessons across FS–Year 6, including play‑based FS approaches.
  • Plan, differentiate, and assess pupil learning, supporting progress and development.
  • Create a calm, purposeful, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and school leaders.
  • Contribute to school events, co‑curricular activities, and professional development.
  • Uphold safeguarding, wellbeing, and KHDA standards.
Person Specification Essential
  • Degree in Islamic Studies with previous KHDA approval
  • British curriculum teaching experience, 2+ years
  • Excellent classroom practice and lesson planning skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Flexible, resilient, and reflective practitioner
Desirable
  • Experience in multicultural or international schools
  • EYFS/Foundation Stage teaching experience
