Food Technology Teacher
The Food Technology Teacher will deliver an engaging, practical curriculum that promotes creativity, nutritional awareness, and sustainability in food preparation and production. Through hands‑on cooking, experimentation, and food science exploration, students will develop essential culinary skills while gaining an understanding of ingredients, processes, and emerging food technologies. The role also connects students with industry professionals and further education pathways, encouraging informed, ethical, and sustainable approaches to food for real‑world applications.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and deliver a curriculum that integrates emerging food technologies, promotes sustainability, and aligns with the school’s personalized learning framework.
Prepare lesson plans, facilitate practical learning experiences, and assess student performance.
Collaborate with colleagues to integrate Food Technology across the curriculum and share best practices.

- Hold a BEd or Bachelor’s degree with PGCE / PGDE or equivalent.
- A Master’s degree or equivalent qualification is preferred.
- Have proven experience of teaching Food Technology at KS3 / KS4.
- Have a willingness to collaborate and share outstanding practice.
- Have a growth mindset, reflecting and solution focussed.
- Be creative and enthusiastic in the approach to teaching.
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills to work closely with colleagues, students and parents.
- Have a proven track record of providing outstanding learning and teaching.
