Head of Performing Arts

Deira International School (DIS) is a leading international school located in Festival City, Dubai, catering to students aged 3–18.

We are seeking an exceptional and inspirational leader to join DIS as Head of Performing Arts. This role encompasses the Drama and Music departments, and is responsible for developing an ambitious and inclusive Performing Arts programme that inspires creativity and excellence.

The successful candidate will:

• Lead curriculum development, teaching, and learning across Drama and Music.
• Drive enrichment activities and departmental improvement.
• Oversee productions, concerts, recitals, showcases, assemblies, and celebration events throughout the year.
• Promote collaboration, innovation, and high expectations for students and staff.
• Contribute fully to the wider life of the school and inspire participation across Performing Arts.

• Experience teaching GCSE Drama, with A Level and/or IB experience desirable.
• Leadership experience within Performing Arts.

  B.Ed. or equivalent degree, plus PGCE/PGDE or equivalent.
• A proven track record of outstanding teaching and learning.
• Experience leading or supporting productions and enrichment programmes.
• A belief in the potential of every student to achieve highly.
• The ability to contribute fully to the wider life of the school and inspire participation across Performing Arts.
