Position: Flight Simulator Instructor - BD700

Instructor Pilot

As an Instructor Pilot at CAE, your role extends beyond training, building confidence and skill while ensuring pilots are prepared for critical moments. You will lead simulator sessions, conduct pre‑flight briefings, and contribute to CAE’s legacy of flight training excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain personal licenses, ratings, and IP currency, including medical fitness where applicable.
  • Verify that any Authority approval is valid before conducting training and exercise privileges accordingly.
  • Comply at the operational level with ECFT/CAE policies, procedures, and authority‑approved programs.
  • Conduct all simulator briefings and training thoroughly, noting and discussing any deviations from SOPs.
  • Review client(s) Training and Checking Authorization form prior to training.
  • Provide simulator instruction on one or more aircraft, requiring at least four hours per session.
  • Conduct pre‑ and post‑flight simulator briefings professionally.
  • Deliver classroom ground‑school instruction using Simfinity, CBT, IPT, or stand‑up lectures, requiring 8–10 hours of instruction.
  • Support the development and certification of training curriculum and devices, including simulator, FTD, and FMS training aids.
  • Attain FAA/EASA ground‑school and simulator instructor designation within approximately 12 months.
  • Obtain qualifications to serve as an examiner and perform examiner duties under the relevant authority on the assigned fleet.
  • Perform Right Seat Support duties as required.
  • Complete miscellaneous duties such as maintaining training records, recommending remedial training, tracking instructional qualifications, and preparing classroom facilities and equipment before sessions.
Qualifications
  • Valid pilot license(s) and current ratings as mandated by the regulatory authority.
  • Current medical fitness appropriate for the assigned training duties.
  • Ability to maintain licensure and ensure authority approvals are up to date.
  • Strong knowledge of ECFT/CAE policies and aviation regulations.
  • Experience delivering simulator and classroom instruction, including debriefing and recording deviations.
  • Competence in preparing and inspecting training facilities and equipment.
