The Arbor School seeks a special individual for an exciting opportunity that has arisen within our school. The successful candidate will play a key role in fulfilling the school’s ecological and sustainability vision, as well as challenging students to fulfil their potential within the academic disciplines. We are looking for a dedicated Whole School PE Teacher – Outdoor and Adventurous Activities Lead to join our successful PE and Sports team.
This role combines high‑quality Physical Education teaching across the whole school (KS1–KS4) with a specialism in Outdoor and Adventurous Activities (OAA).
We are looking for an experienced Whole School PE Teacher – Outdoor and Adventurous Activities Lead with a passion for the subject and a broad subject knowledge. The successful applicant will be able to teach students of all abilities and demonstrate a proven track record of securing outstanding student outcomes in both physical and academic development. To ensure the continued development of our sports programme, we are looking to recruit a candidate with expertise in athletics, netball and cheerleading.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be proficient and experienced in teaching Physical Education and lead Outdoor Education, a cornerstone of our ecological and sustainability ethos, supporting students to develop healthy, active lifestyles while cultivating resilience, teamwork and a deep connection to the natural world.
Oversee and deliver the Duke of Edinburgh International Award and contribute to a thriving enrichment and sport programme.
As a school that prides itself on a vibrant and inclusive sporting culture, the role carries a clear expectation to contribute fully to our extra‑curricular programme, including coaching Primary and Secondary squads, supporting fixtures and competitions, and helping to grow participation and performance across the school community.
Required Candidate Profile- Native‑level English language skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or similar, with a PGCE in Education with QTS or equivalent
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching physical education in the UK or a reputable British school overseas
- A track record of outstanding teaching and learning and an ability to create a caring and nurturing classroom environment.
