We are looking for an outstanding Head of Secondary, to start sooner. This role is for an exceptional leader who demonstrates a high level of turnaround leadership competencies with a proven track record and is an exciting opportunity to lead the secondary wing of our well‑reputed CBSE curriculum school into excellence. The Head of the Secondary will be responsible for supporting the school's Vision and Mission as well as all policies, teaching and learning outcomes and pastoral care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the strategic leadership of the school as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, directly reporting to the Principal.
  • Uphold the vision & mission of the school and support the Principal to take the school to the next level.
  • Hold responsibility and accountability for day‑to‑day operations and all academic affairs of the Secondary wing.
  • Have an excellent understanding of CBSE curriculum & board examination assessment standards.
  • Contribute to the school improvement plans, and self‑evaluation of the teaching and learning within the school.
  • Supervise the instructional programs of the school, evaluating lesson plans and observing classes regularly.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive and confident knowledge of best practice pedagogy.
  • Supervise fairly and consistently effective discipline and attendance systems with high standards, consistent with the philosophy, values, and mission of the school adhering to children safe‑guarding policy.
  • Display the highest ethical and professional behavioural standards when working with students, parents and all stakeholders.
  • Foster a learning environment leading to continuous improvement in academic excellence and holistic education.
  • Develop innovative, engaging, and challenging learning designs that actively boost the competency and capabilities of the leadership team.
  • Encourage alignment of Teaching, Learning and Assessment practices with instructional and delivery methods to meet performance improvement standards.
  • Imbibe and enhance UAE culture in the school in line with the guidelines and regulations of the National Agenda Parameter.
  • Ensure high levels of team member engagement and commitment to new initiatives.
  • Liaise with the Curriculum and Assessment team to provide up‑to‑date information on curriculum development & triangulation of data; progress and attainment in all performance indicators.
  • Prepare all supporting information for the KHDA inspections & audits as advised by the Principal and liaise with the school governing body and DSIB inspectors as necessary.
  • Lead and manage staff performance in the Secondary wing.
  • Protect the confidentiality of records and information gained as part of exercising professional duties and use discretion in sharing such information within legal confines.
To be considered for this role, the candidate must be:
  • An effective and dynamic leader with a minimum of 3 years experience in a senior school leadership team, having experience as a Head/Deputy Head of Secondary; preferably a Master’s degree in an education‑related field.
  • Experienced in developing teachers’ skills and competencies through sustained school improvement plans and continuous professional development training.
  • Proven track record in the development, design and execution of learning and development training programs and delivery of live and online workshops.
  • Have experience measuring the effectiveness of training, including diagnosing and understanding the needs for training.
  • Be a thought leader in learning leadership, keeping abreast of industry trends to ensure best‑in‑class solutions.
  • Show a commitment to inclusion.
  • Have UAE school experience of the DSIB Inspection Frameworks – highly desirable.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills & team‑building skills.
  • Remain calm and be solution‑oriented in high‑stress situations.
  • Have strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
