Position Summary
Nibras International School is seeking a qualified Social Studies Teacher to join the team in August 2026. The teacher will ensure a safe, stimulating learning environment and promote exceptional progress for all pupils while upholding the school's vision of an empowering community.
Responsibilities- Set high expectations, inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
- Establish a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Determine and attain learning goals for students of all backgrounds and abilities.
- Demonstrate positive attitudes, values, and behaviour expected of pupils.
- Account for pupils’ attainment, progress, and outcomes.
- Assess pupil capabilities and prior knowledge to inform lesson planning.
- Guide pupils to reflect on progress and identify emerging needs.
- Plan and deliver well-structured lessons that build knowledge and curiosity.
- Set homework and plan out‑of‑class activities to consolidate learning.
- Reflect on lesson effectiveness and adjust teaching approaches.
- Design and contribute to engaging curriculum within the subject area.
- Differentially teach to meet diverse learning needs.
- Use formative and summative assessment to support progress and set targets.
- Provide regular, constructive feedback.
- Manage classroom behaviour, enforce clear rules, and apply consistent discipline.
- Maintain professional relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.

- Engage and motivate students to exceed expectations.

- Promote the intellectual, moral, spiritual, cultural, physical, and personal growth of students.
- Maintain records of student needs and provide guidance to students on relevant matters.
- Participate in whole‑school development and share best practice.
- Assess, record, and report progress and attainment of students.
- Provide oral and written assessments, reports, and references.
- Guide learners to set improvement targets and give regular feedback.
- Review teaching methods and programs of work.
- Take initiative for personal development.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
- Co‑operate with principals and colleagues on teaching materials, schemes, assessment, and pastoral arrangements.
- Take responsibility for specific subject(s).
- Embed UAE heritage and culture within the curriculum.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies. - Experience:
2 years of school‑based teaching.
- Outstanding performance and teaching experience in American or International schools.
- Strong knowledge of international/American curriculum.
- Excellent communication skills and command of the English language.
- Collaborative team‑player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Classroom and behaviour management proficiency.
