Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry‑based lessons that inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning.
- Create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that nurtures individual strengths and learning styles.
- Differentiate teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including EAL, gifted, and students requiring additional support.
- Integrate technology and innovative approaches to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Assess, record, and communicate student progress effectively, using data to inform teaching and personalised support.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design and refine IB‑aligned curriculum plans, resources, and assessments.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through co‑curricular activities, events, and community initiatives.
- Build positive relationships with parents and the wider school community to support student growth and wellbeing.
- Engage in ongoing professional learning and reflection to continuously enhance teaching practice.
- Uphold the GEMS values and the IB Learner Profile in all aspects of school life.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A certified professional teaching qualification at degree level, such as
B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent in Economics specialism. - A minimum of 3 years of solid and demonstrable experience teaching Secondary Economics, ideally within an IB Curriculum School (preferred but not essential).
- Experience teaching MYP & DP is preferred but not essential.
- A passion for inspiring young learners through innovative and inquiry‑based teaching.
- The vision, energy, commitment, and educational philosophy to contribute to the continued success of a leading flagship GEMS school with an international student body.
- A desire to grow professionally and work within a collaborative, forward‑thinking community.
