About the School

GEMS World Academy–Dubai (GWA) is a private, co‑educational IB World School for PreK to Grade 12 students, established in 2008 as part of GEMS Education. It is authorised to deliver the PYP, MYP, DP and CP programmes and is accredited by the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

The English department has transformed student outcomes and succeeded in inspiring a love of learning. The role is for a passionate DP English practitioner who believes their skills, experience, and values align with GEMS World Academy’s commitment to inspiring a love of learning and has opportunities available from August 2026.

• A Bachelor of Education degree, or an initial degree plus a relevant teaching qualification such as a PGCE, PGDE or equivalent specialism in English.
• Advanced qualifications are preferred but not essential.
• A minimum of 3 years experience teaching Secondary English, ideally within an IB curriculum school, however, this is not mandatory.
• A strong understanding of the IB MYP & DP framework and Approaches to Teaching is preferred.
• A strong desire to continually improve their practice and deliver outstanding teaching and learning experiences for their students.
• The experience, personality and educational philosophy that aligns with a leading IB World School like GEMS World Academy.
