Job DescriptionThe Safety Engineer for Sewerage Networks (Microtunneling) holds a critical role in ensuring the utmost safety of personnel, equipment, and the environment throughout the lifecycle of sewerage system projects. This position demands unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety in all aspects of sewerage network construction.
Conduct comprehensive and meticulous risk assessments for sewerage network construction projects, with particular emphasis on identifying and evaluating potential hazards related to environmental factors, equipment operation, material handling, and work processes.
Critically review and enhance risk mitigation strategies to effectively minimize the likelihood of accidents and health risks, ensuring full compliance with all relevant safety regulations and industry best practices.
Perform thorough examinations of plans and specifications for sewer and stormwater networks, meticulously identifying potential hazards and risks that may compromise safety or operational integrity.
Develop and oversee robust emergency response plans to address critical incidents such as chemical spills, equipment failures, or accidents, ensuring swift and effective action in crisis situations.
Establish and maintain essential coordination with relevant authorities for emergency services, facilitating immediate and appropriate responses when required.
Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and strict adherence to all safety and engineering standards as stipulated in DM and RTA manuals, ensuring full compliance across all project phases.
Exhibit expertise in the preparation and management of traffic diversion schemes at work zones, prioritizing public safety and minimizing disruption to local infrastructure.
- Ten (10) years of experience in the field of safety of networks construction.
- A strong understanding of health and safety laws, regulations, and standards.
A Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, preferably in civil, environmental or health and safety engineering.
