Aboutthe role
Zutari is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor with extensive experience in roads and bridge projects in Dubai and the UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cost estimation, tender preparation, contract administration, and commercial management, with a strong understanding of RTA requirements.
Responsibilities- Cost Estimation & BOQ Preparation:
Develop detailed cost estimates and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for roads and bridge projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client requirements. - Tender & Contract Support:
Prepare engineer’s estimates, evaluate contractor submissions, and respond to tender queries in line with contractual obligations. - Collaboration with Design Teams:
Work closely with engineering and design teams to provide commercial input during all stages of project development. - Pre-Contract
Activities:
Participate in meetings with clients, consultants, and bidders to support smooth contract finalisation. - Commercial Administration:
Manage variations, claims, and invoicing processes, liaising with clients to ensure timely certification and payments. - Data Management:
Maintain cost databases and benchmarks specifically for roadworks, bridges, interchanges, and associated civil infrastructure.
- Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in the UAE, with a strong track record in roads and bridges projects.
- Knowledge of RTA approval processes, standards, and regulations is essential.
- Strong understanding of FIDIC contracts and UAE construction law.
- Proficiency in estimation and QS tools (e.g., Candy, CostX, or similar).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- RICS membership or progress toward qualification preferred.
