PLC Commissioning Engineer

Join our Engineering Team in Dubai as a PLC Engineer and play a key role in delivering high-performing Baggage/Cargo Handling Systems from development through commissioning.

• Develop and commission PLC software while respecting BHS/CHS rules to guarantee the system’s high functional performance, eliminate system redundancies, and meet project requirements.
• Analyze the mechanical layout, Electrical, and control drawings with the project specifications, ensuring that the system’s functional and operational aspects are achievable as per the specification and delivered on time.
• Good Knowledge of BHS/CHS Process, Safety Systems, and third-party interfaces like ATR, Xray, Sorters, Lifts, etc.
• Prepare necessary design documentation such as Functional Design Specification, Operator Manuals, Training Manuals, etc., describing the system operation from an automation perspective.
• Generate Commissioning documentation such as Method statements, pre-commissioning checklist, Test protocols, and Testing & Commissioning Plan.
• Liaising with the respective design teams, in addition to IT and Simulation Engineers, on the control aspects of the system design, paying attention to drive selection, fieldbus topology, and safety considerations to fulfil the required functional requirements are delivered during the commissioning phase.
• Undertake and support all levels of Testing and liaise with respective integration teams to test the designed system with different stakeholders, provide required system training to stakeholders, and close snags successfully.
• Provide onsite support to improve system performance by monitoring and optimizing Systems where necessary for existing projects (BHS and/or CHS).
• Actively participate in training new products (e.g., Baggage Base Logic), keep up with the latest developments, and provide feedback to engineering team members and R&D/HQ.
• Peer review and provide feedback on low-level control estimates and technical documents during the Bid phase.
• Review customer specifications and ensure the systems offered fully meet the client’s operational requirements.
• Will be responsible for following occupational health, safety, security, environment and quality processes as stipulated in the Project HSSE Plan and Project Quality Plan, respectively.

• Bachelor’s Degree specializing in Instrumentation or Electro-Mechanical or Electrical or Electronic Engineering or in a relevant field.
• Minimum 5 years of automation experience in object‑orientated software, programming and commissioning involving Siemens PLCs (Simatic Manager S7, TIA), Simatic Failsafe Systems, HMIs (WinCC Flexible), Drives (Sinamics, Micro Master, SEW, Nord, etc.), specifically in Baggage Handling or Cargo Handling Systems.
• Hands‑on experience with Siemens Simatic S7‑400 & 1500 systems on Profibus and Profinet.
• Experience in WinCC and S7‑400FH systems & CFC is an added advantage.
• Excellent collaborative and organizational skills with the ability to communicate effectively with Stakeholders.
• Experience with software like e‑Plan, and AutoCAD will be an added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment safety standards and basic Electrical engineering concepts will be an added advantage.
• Excellent collaborative, organizational skills and interpersonal skills to communicate with internal & external stakeholders effectively.
• Strong proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
