Operations Engineer - Ready Mix Concrete
Overview
An Operations Engineer in ready-mix concrete industry is responsible for overseeing production, maintenance, and logistics to ensure efficient plant performance and product quality.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee day-to-day production, including scheduling, inventory management, and batching accuracy for cement, aggregates, and water.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance for batching plant equipment such as mixers, silos, and conveyors to minimize downtime.
- Ensure concrete mixes meet industry standards (e.g., BS, ASTM, ACI) and project specifications by working closely with QC teams.
- Lead and motivate a diverse team of operators, drivers, and technicians, managing shift schedules and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with sales and logistics to coordinate the timely delivery of concrete to construction sites.
- Monitor performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output and waste, and manage operational budgets and expenses.
- Enforce local health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and standards in the UAE.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience:
Proven experience with 10+ years in the ready-mix concrete industry, particularly within the GCC or UAE.
Technical
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of batching plant operations, concrete technology, and mix designs.
Professional Affiliation:
Membership in the UAE Society of Engineers is often preferred or required for engineering roles.
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills in English (Arabic or Hindi are often listed as advantages).
