** Job Description**## Overview The Resident Engineer will be responsible for managing a multidisciplinary team, coordinating with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders, and ensuring the successful completion of underground interchange stations. ##

Your role
* Oversee and manage the day-to-day construction activities for underground interchange stations, ensuring that all work is completed according to design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.
* Coordinate and collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and design teams to ensure efficient execution of the project and resolve any technical issues that may arise.
* Ensure compliance with local regulations, international standards, and safety requirements throughout the construction of the underground interchange stations.
* Supervise all aspects of underground station construction, including structural works, MEP systems (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing), tunneling, and other critical components.
* Monitor the overall progress of construction and ensure that any delays, disruptions, or issues are addressed and mitigated in a timely manner.
* Review and approve construction method statements, work plans, and technical submittals related to the underground interchange stations.
* Perform regular site inspections and quality control checks to verify that construction works are being carried out as per the contract documents and quality standards.
* Act as the primary point of contact for any site-related technical queries and provide expert guidance and solutions to the team.
* Maintain detailed records of site activities, including progress reports, site diaries, incident reports, and meeting minutes for submission to senior management.
* Ensure that all work complies with environmental, health, safety, and welfare standards, and promote a safety-first culture on-site.
* Liaise with the project management team to align construction activities with the overall project schedule and milestones.
* Coordinate the preparation and implementation of risk management plans, ensuring potential risks are identified and mitigated throughout the project.
* Lead and supervise the resolution of technical and engineering issues that may impact the progress of the underground interchange station construction.
* Ensure proper document control and manage the submission of as-built drawings, inspection reports, and other project-related documentation.
* Review contractor progress claims, variations, and payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with the contract.
* Facilitate the commissioning and handover process for the underground interchange stations, ensuring all systems and components are fully operational. ## About you
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
* 20+ years of relevant experience in the construction of underground interchange stations, with experience in metro or large-scale infrastructure projects.
* Must have worked on Iconic Interchange Stations.
* In-depth knowledge of underground station construction, including complex tunneling, structural works, MEP systems, and station integration.
* Strong understanding of local regulations, safety standards, and quality control measures in the UAE.
* Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale construction projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and resolving technical challenges.
* Proficiency in project management software, construction scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
* Fluent in English (written and spoken);
Arabic language skills are a plus.
* Valid UAE driver’s license (preferred).
