About the Role

The Commercial Lead position responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
Review the tender documents to evaluate business/commercial risks, monitoring the progress of projects, review cost projections to evaluate project profitability, investigating variances as compared to approved project budget, approving expenses, valuation of the scope changes/variations, and ensuring that project billings are issued to customers and payments collected.

Responsibilities

  • Review all tender documents to prepare and present executive summary for key commercial risks/opportunities for business segment leadership review
  • Create project accounts in ERP system and set up authorization matrix for all projects assigned
  • Authorize the transfer of expenses into and out of project-related accounts
  • Prepare cost report on each project assigned including the comparison of to-date actuals vs project budget and summarize forecast at completion (FAC) to analyze project financial performance.
  • Prepare with PMT the scope changes related valuations using contract pricing mechanism
  • Review and approve with Project manager, supplier invoices, over-head charges, project assets and expenses allocation related to project(s) assigned.
  • Conversant with the latest practices adapted in cost control engineering
  • Prepare and ensure timely and accurate project milestone and progress invoicing on all projects assigned including pro-active monitoring of invoice tracker to ensure timely invoicing and collection on project(s).
  • Report to management on any opportunities for additional billings/Scope changes.
  • Report to management regarding the remaining funding available for projects i.e. complete cash flow management on all projects assigned.
  • Report to management on all projects Cost projection system (CPS) in coordination with Project team to present overall business/commercial position for all projects.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering with QS background and experience in Commercial roles in EPC O&G industry

Required Skills

  • Excellent working knowledge and of MS Excel, MS Word, Power Point, MS Access and Visio.
  • Able to produce reports and schedules in a given agreed structured and presentable format.
  • Well oriented in the applications and principles of Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques, cost estimation, cost control & forecasting, profitability analysis, project management, planning and scheduling
  • Minimum 15-20 years of experience in commercial / cost control or engineering role in EPC industry.
  • Ability to apply deductive reasoning and draw conclusions to solve problems and facilitate decision making process.
  • Strong communication skills. Ability to communicate with as well as support effective partnerships with peers and subordinates, and to influence operations.
