Material Engineer

Overview

A Material Engineer in a construction company is primarily responsible for ensuring that all construction materials meet technical specifications, safety standards, and project requirements. They bridge the gap between design and execution by overseeing quality control and procurement processes.

• Material Selection & Approval: Evaluate and recommend materials based on design objectives like strength, durability, and cost. Review and approve supplier submittals and technical bids.
• Testing & Quality Control: Conduct or oversee laboratory and field tests (e.g., for heat resistance, corrosion, or structural stress) to verify compliance with international standards such as ASTM
