Mott Mac Donald is currently looking for a Civil/Structural Inspector who will be responsible for inspecting the installation of steel and concrete structural works within a metro rehabilitation projects, ensuring their compliance with the codes and standards within the contract.
Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:
- Provide professional support to the project team, helping to ensure high quality service delivery and a co‑ordinated response to clients
- Involve delegated trust and authority, together with the use of initiative, at a level commensurate with the status of the post
- Check site conditions for suitability prior to construction
- Develop and maintain the Quality Management System, Quality Management Plan in line with legislation, certification, contract requirements and parent company governance
- Observe, check and record work execution is in accordance with approved methods
- Manage QA implementation and assure full compliance with extensive QA/QC processes
- Check setting‑out and levels
- Check services locations and ensure their protection
- Record inspections, tests, work executed etc.
- Observe site safety procedures and actively monitor and report on contractor’s safety performance, raising non‑conformance reports when required.
- Actively monitor implementation of contractor’s quality procedures and raise non‑conformance reports when required.
- Assist in the preparation of ‘As Built’ drawings
- To undertake specific projects as required.
- Degree in Civil Engineering or any relevant engineering; additional certificates or qualifications in Health and Safety would be preferred
- Relevant experience in building construction projects
- Proven experience in managing all HSE matters on large construction sites
- Experience with in a consultancy environment is preferred
- Experience of working on a metro station would be advantageous
