Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Interface Engineer - Civil and MEP (Design) to join our metro rail team here in Dubai, UAE.
Responsibilities- Interface Management and Coordination
- Strong working knowledge of civil/structural interfaces (underground and elevated stations), tunnels, viaducts and MEP systems such as HVAC, Tunnel Ventilation Systems, Building Management Systems, etc.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, structural, and MEP (HVAC, TVS, BMS), to review and coordinate interface documentation.
- Design Reviews
- Evaluate interface control documents to ensure the integration of civil and MEP systems is practical, constructible, and compliant with project requirements, codes, and standards.
- Identification and Resolution
- Proactively identify potential conflicts or gaps in design and construction interfaces.
- Lead and participate in technical meetings to resolve interface issues, ensuring a coordinated and unified approach to problem-solving.
- Compliance Assurance
- Ensure designs comply with local regulatory frameworks, health and safety standards, and industry best practices.
- Address discrepancies and propose technically sound and compliant solutions where necessary.
- Construction Support
- Work closely with construction teams to monitor progress and ensure that civil and MEP systems are installed and integrated correctly in accordance with design intent.
- Address technical challenges arising during construction and provide timely engineering support.
- Testing and Commissioning
- Participate in inspections, testing, and commissioning activities to verify that integrated systems meet performance, quality, and safety requirements.
- Risk Mitigation
- Identify risks associated with interface management, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor their implementation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant design experience in Civil and MEP interface management.
- Experience in a PMC (consultant) role will be preferred.
- Proven experience in large-scale Rail infrastructure preferably Metro project.
- Strong understanding of civil and MEP systems integration.
- Knowledge of BIM and digital twin technologies.
- Proficiency in design review software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks).
- Experience working with local authorities and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies, tools, and standards.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
