Senior Consultant - Construction & Engineering Consultancy, Dubai
Our client is a boutique construction and engineering consultancy, providing multi-disciplined expertise in Project Controls, Dispute Resolution and Advisory services. They have offices in Manchester, London & the UAE, with ambitious growth plans in the Middle East.
The Developer is one of Dubai's most respected real estate developers with over 100 projects delivered across the UAE and GCC. The project is secured till 2029 in Downtown Dubai.
Job Role- Screening of the Contractor and the Engineer/Client correspondences
- Identifying any contract/claim-related correspondences;
- Downloading the contract/claims correspondences to our clients server (shareable with end user/client)
- Listing any pertinent correspondences on the Pertinent Correspondence Tracker
- Ensuring robust responses are drafted by us for issue by the Engineer or by the Engineer with our review and comments. This will help the end user stay on top of all relevant contract and claims-related correspondences and ensure responses are issued in a timely and effective manner.
- Reviewing the Contractor's Monthly Report and highlighting any Commercial, Contract, and Claim risks that the Engineer ought to address in the Monthly Progress Meeting Minutes. This will help end user proactively identify and address any potential risks and issues that may arise during the project, preventing disputes and claims from escalating and the end users position from becoming prejudiced.
- Ensuring that a schedule of all notices, detailed particulars, and extension of time and cost claims are maintained on the our clients inhouse server.
- This will provides the end user with a complete and organized overview of all relevant claims and notices, ensuring appropriate responses are drafted and issued in a timely and effective manner.
- Reviewing the Contractor's Monthly IPA and the proposed Engineer IPC, auditing the Engineer's IPC proactively assesses the Contractor's IPA. This will ensure that their client is aware of the Contractor's progress and variation claims and that the Engineer is accurately assessing work done the Contractor.
- Auditing the Project Variation Account to ensure that their clients Quantity Surveyor proactively manages and administers Variations in accordance with the Contract and their clients own internal procedures.
- This will help ensure that any changes to the project are managed properly and in compliance with the contract, preventing disputes and claims from escalating and ensuring their clients position is not prejudiced.
- Providing contract/claims advice to the Project Team, as and when required.
- This will help the Project Team deal with any issues that arise during the project, ensuring that they are appropriately managed and addressed.
- Producing a Monthly Contract/Claims Report providing a live position of the key claims and contract management position.
- This will provide their clients claims team with a clear overview of the project's progress and any potential risks and issues that may arise.
- 10 years experience working with reputable consultants/contractors in the UAE/UK
- Well versed with FIDIC
- Experience with contracts & dispute consultants
- 5 year minimum experience on large value projects in UK/UAE
