Head of Engineering

Our client is a high-growth, product-to-consumer business operating at scale across the region. Technology sits at the core of their product, and they are now looking to appoint a Head of Engineering to lead and evolve their engineering function.

This role suits a senior engineering leader with strong experience in AI-driven products and modern data architecture, who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and drive the overall engineering strategy, aligned with product and business objectives
• Lead and scale multidisciplinary engineering teams across backend, frontend, mobile, data, and AI
• Partner closely with Product, Data, and Commercial leaders to deliver customer-centric solutions
• Design and maintain a scalable, secure, and resilient architecture for a consumer platform
• Oversee the development and integration of AI and machine-learning capabilities (e.g. personalisation, automation, recommendation engines, LLM use cases)
• Establish strong data architecture and pipelines to support analytics, experimentation, and decision-making
• Champion engineering best practices across system design, testing, deployment, and performance
• Build a culture of high standards, accountability, and continuous improvement

Key Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role (Head of Engineering, Director of Engineering, or similar)
• Background in product-led, consumer-facing platforms operating at scale
• Strong understanding of AI/ML systems and how to embed them into real-world products
• Deep experience designing and managing data architectures (event-driven systems, analytics stacks, data platforms)
• Comfortable operating at both strategic and executional levels
• Experience building and leading teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
