, delivering large-scale residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects. Our operations depend heavily on the effective selection, benchmarking, and lifecycle planning of Plant, Machinery, and Vehicles (PMV) to ensure project efficiency, safety, and cost optimization.
The Procurement Engineer – PMV (Research) is a non-transactional, research-intensive role focused on market intelligence, benchmarking, and technical-commercial analysis of construction plant, machinery, and vehicles. The role supports procurement and operations teams by providing data-backed recommendations before purchasing, leasing, or long-term contracting decisions are made.
You will act as a PMV subject-matter research partner
, enabling smarter sourcing and capital expenditure decisions.
- Conduct in-depth market research on construction plant, heavy machinery, and vehicles
- Benchmark OEMs, dealers, rental companies, and service providers
- Track pricing trends, lead times, availability, warranty terms, AMC/CMC, and resale values
- Research buy vs rent vs lease options and lifecycle cost implications
- Analyze technical specifications, capacity requirements, fuel efficiency, and safety features
- Prepare technical-commercial comparison matrices for PMV equipment
- Support preparation of capex proposals and budget estimates
- Provide data inputs for negotiation and vendor finalization
- Coordinate with project managers, plant managers, operations, and procurement teams
- Maintain a structured PMV vendor database, equipment catalog, and cost benchmarks
- Track UAE/GCC regulations, certifications, and compliance requirements for PMV
- Support audits by maintaining accurate research documentation and reports
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering
- 5–9 years of experience in PMV procurement, plant engineering, or procurement research roles
- Strong exposure to construction equipment, heavy machinery, and fleet management
- Experience in UAE / GCC PMV markets is highly preferred
- Strong technical understanding of construction plant, machinery, and vehicle specifications
- Excellent research, benchmarking, and analytical skills
- Ability to prepare cost models, comparison sheets, and feasibility reports
Knowledge of total cost of ownership (TCO) and lifecycle analysis - Proficiency in MS Excel, presentations, and procurement documentation tools
- Strong stakeholder coordination and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and decision support
