Project​/Technical Coordinator – Master Planning

The Technical Coordinator – Master Planning for technical coordination, integration, and control of multidisciplinary master planning projects.
The role ensures alignment between all design consultants, compliance with applicable authority regulations, and delivery of coordinated, high-quality master plan outputs in accordance with project objectives, timelines, and approvals processes.

This position acts as the central technical interface between the Project Manager, internal teams, external consultants, and approving authorities.

• Coordinate and integrate inputs from all master planning disciplines including:
  • Urban Design
  • Architecture
  • Landscape
  • Infrastructure (roads, utilities, drainage)
  • Transport & Traffic
  • Sustainability / Environmental
• Ensure consistency and alignment across all master plan deliverables, drawings, reports, and presentations.
• Review consultant submissions for technical accuracy, completeness, coordination, and compliance with project brief, applicable codes and authorities’ requirements.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact between all external consultants.
• Manage information flow between consultants, ensuring timely inputs and responses.
• Organize and lead technical coordination meetings and workshops.
• Track design actions, comments, and responses across all disciplines.

Authority Compliance & Approvals

• Ensure master planning proposals comply with relevant local, regional, and national authority requirements, guidelines, and codes.
• Coordinate authority submission packages and technical responses.
• Liaise with authorities, when required, to support approvals, clarifications, and technical discussions.
• Track approval status, comments, and required revisions.

Design Review & Quality Control

• Perform technical reviews of master plans, layouts, phasing plans, infrastructure strategies, and supporting reports.
• Identify design conflicts, risks, or non-compliance issues early and propose mitigation measures.
• Support in implementing quality assurance procedures.
• managing technical schedules and deliverables.
• Monitor progress against agreed milestones and highlight potential delays or coordination risks.
• Assist in change management related to scope, authority comments, or design revisions.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain coordinated design records, trackers, and technical logs.
• Prepare technical summaries, coordination notes, and status reports for internal and client use.
• Ensure version control and proper documentation of master plan submissions.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Master’s degree in Urban Planning or similar is an advantage.

Experience

• 8–12 years of experience in master planning projects within a consultancy environment.
• Proven experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultants on large-scale master plans.
• Strong understanding of planning processes, development regulations, and authority approvals.
• Experience working with public sector authorities and regulatory bodies is essential.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of master planning principles and urban development processes.
• Ability to read, review, and coordinate complex technical drawings and reports.
• Familiarity with authority guidelines, planning standards, and approval workflows.
• Proficient in design coordination tools and software (AutoCAD, GIS, Adobe Suite; InDesign, BIM exposure is an advantage).
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and facilitation abilities.
• Detail-oriented with a proactive problem-solving mindset.
• Able to manage multiple consultants and priorities simultaneously.
