- Assist the Project Manager in planning, directing, supervising and controlling the technical and administrative functions of the project and participate in determining the technical skills & staff hours required for successful completion of the project.
- Review drawings, reports, and specifications submitted by the design office to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with approved conditions and applicable standards.
- Interpret construction drawings and studies the contract documents and applicable standards/specifications prior to execution of any jobs.
- Review, validate, and comment on civil/structural shop drawings, material and technical submittals.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (architectural, structural, MEP).
- Check contractor’s correspondence on contractual issues (variation orders evaluation, extension of time, claims, etc.) and provide recommendations and pertinent replies. Also to support Q.S/Contracts team on commercial issues as and when required.
- Conduct detailed site inspections to ensure compliance with approved designs, shop drawing, specifications, and QA/QC procedures
- Lead/Supervise Engineers, Inspectors and surveyors during construction & implementation stage as well monitor and evaluate contractor and relevant subcontractor performance.
- Review the contractor’s progress. Monitor the work performed, the material incorporated into the work, the materials stored at the site and the contractor’s manpower and equipment.
- Attend weekly, monthly and other progress meetings held at the site. Review the contractor’s progress. Identify constraints and recommend corrective measures.
- Works in line with HSE Policy and ensure awareness and compliance with HSE rules and regulations by subordinates and provides support wherever required in the review and audit of all structure studies/submissions and modifications.
- Monitor the final inspection/completion of the construction works, snagging works and handover of the completed facilities.
- Perform any other jobs as may be assigned by the superiors.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent from a recognized university.
- Minimum 10–15 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, construction supervision, and project management (depending on project scale).
- Proven experience on large-scale infrastructure and/or building projects.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering construction methods, materials, and workmanship standards.
- Solid understanding of contract administration, including variations, claims, and Extension of Time (EOT) procedures.
