Experience: Minimum 8+ years (UAE contracting experience mandatory)
Role OverviewWe are seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Engineer / Senior Structural Engineer with strong contracting background in the UAE. The ideal candidate will lead technical coordination, ensure design compliance, resolve complex structural issues, and support commercial and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive technical support during design, tender, and construction stages.
- Review, coordinate, and manage IFC, TQ, PTC, and contract documents
. - Review and approve material submittals in compliance with Dubai Municipality regulations, UAE codes, and Green Building requirements
. - Coordinate effectively between Architecture, Structural, MEP, and other disciplines to ensure clash-free and constructible designs.
- Review and manage all subcontractors’ shop drawings and material submittals
. - Prepare, review, and coordinate rebar shop drawings and Bar Bending Schedules (BBS).
- Identify, rectify, and resolve structural design errors and discrepancies proactively.
- Lead and resolve design-related issues
, ensuring timely solutions before construction execution. - Provide strong contractual and technical support
, including identifying variations and technical changes. - Liaise with QS / Commercial teams
, providing accurate technical inputs related to changes, claims, and variations. - Lead and manage a team of engineers, architects, and draftsmen
, ensuring quality and timely deliverables. - Coordinate and close technical issues prior to reaching the construction team, minimizing site disruptions.
- Ensure full compliance with UAE codes, standards, and local authority regulations
. - Coordinate all engineering activities with subcontractors to meet project timelines and quality requirements.
- Prepare and maintain shop drawing logs, material logs, and technical registers for the project.
- High proficiency in AutoCAD
. - Working knowledge of BIM / Revit and coordination processes.
- Strong understanding of structural systems, construction methodologies, and UAE practices
. - Strong leadership and coordination skills
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability
- High attention to detail and technical accuracy
- Sound contractual and commercial awareness
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple stakeholders
